Internal Audit/Loan Review Associate

Soy Capital Bank and Trust Company

Location: Decatur, Illinois
Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Reporting to: Senior Audit Officer, this position is accountable for performing detailed audit steps in all areas of the Company as planned and designed, and for performing review and analysis of loan-related documentation, as directed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs tests of transactions to determine extent of compliance with existing policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Documents existing procedures and systems in the area of the Company being reviewed.
  • Extracts information from corporate databases, analyzes and tests data, conducts interviews and procedural walk-throughs.
  • Identifies internal control weaknesses and opportunities for operational improvements with an emphasis on cost savings and revenue enhancements.
  • Prepares supporting work paper documents and audit findings.
  • Provides support to the Company’s external auditors.
  • Assists with annual and ongoing risk assessments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Significant course work in pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or similar experience
  • Audit or financial experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with confidential information
